The union between Draco Malfoy and Astoria Greengrass was a controversial one, to say the least. There were many who believed that Malfoy had been forced into the marriage by his father, Lucius, in order to rehabilitate the family’s image after the fall of Lord Voldemort. There were others who believed that Astoria herself had ulterior motives for marrying into the Malfoy family. And then there were those who simply thought that the two young people had found happiness together despite their families’ history.
The Malfoy Family Background
The Malfoy family is one of the oldest and most influential families in the wizarding world. They are related to many of the other old families, such as the Blacks and the Lestranges. The Malfoys have always been Pure-bloods and they have always been loyal to Lord Voldemort and his cause.
Draco Malfoy is the only child of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy (nee Black). He has one cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, who is married to Rodolphus Lestrange. Bellatrix and Rodolphus have two children, Andromeda Tonks (nee Black) and Narcissa’s son, Voldemort’s second-in-command, Scorpius Malfoy.
Draco Malfoy married Astoria Greengrass in 2007. It is unknown if this was a love match or a political match. Astoria was a Pure-blood witch from an old family. She was sixteen when she married Draco and he was twenty-one. They had one child together, a son named Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy, who was born in 2009.
The Death Eaters and their Families
While many members of the Death Eaters were forced into marriages with fellow group members, it is unclear if this was the case for all of them. For example, Draco Malfoy was forced to marry Astoria Greengrass, but it is unknown if this was a requirement for membership in the group or simply a way for Lucius Malfoy to solidify his ties to the organization.
The First Wizarding War
The First Wizarding War was a conflict that took place between 1970 and 1981. It was fought between the wizarding government of Britain and a group of wizards and witches who opposed their policies. One of the most controversial policies that the wizarding government implemented was the requirement that all marriages had to be approved by the Ministry of Magic. This meant that couples had to go through a lengthy and bureaucratic process in order to get married. Many couples, including Draco Malfoy and Astoria Greengrass, were forced to marry each other because they could not get approval from the Ministry.
The Second Wizarding War
In the second Wizarding War, Draco Malfoy was forced to marry Astoria Greengrass. This was due to a prophecy that stated that Draco’s wife would have a powerful child.
The Battle of Hogwarts
The Battle of Hogwarts was the final conflict of the Second Wizarding War. It took place on 2 May, 1998, within the castle of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The battle saw the deaths of many members of both sides, including Fred and George Weasley, Remus Lupin, Bellatrix Lestrange, and Severus Snape.
The Malfoy Family After the War
The Malfoy family was one of the most prominent pure-blood families in the wizarding world prior to the First Wizarding War. They lost much of their power and prestige during the conflict, but managed to remain an influential family in the wizarding community.
Draco Malfoy, the only child of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, was born into this family. He married Astoria Greengrass, a fellow pure-blood witch, shortly after the Second Wizarding War. It is unclear if this marriage was arranged by their families or if it was a love match. However, considering the circumstances under which they wed, it is possible that Draco was pressured into marrying Astoria by his parents.
Draco’s Marriage to Astoria
Draco Malfoy’s marriage to Astoria Greengrass has been the subject of much speculation over the years. Many believe that Draco was forced into the marriage by his parents, Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy. There is some evidence to support this theory; for example, Narcissa is known to have been very disapproving of Astoria. Additionally, Lucius is known to have been deeply concerned about Draco’s future and his prospects for finding a suitable wife. Given these circumstances, it is possible that the Malfoys may have felt that they had no choice but to arranged Draco’s marriage to Astoria.
Why Did Draco Marry Astoria?
While it is not known exactly why Draco Malfoy married Astoria Greengrass, there are a few possible reasons that have been suggested. One theory is that he was forced into the marriage by his parents, in order to maintain their pure-blood status. Another possibility is that he married her for love, as they did seem to care for each other deeply. It is also worth noting that, at the time of their marriage, the Malfoy family was facing hard times financially; Astoria’s dowry may have been appealing to them.
After analyzing the evidence, it seems clear that while Draco may not have wanted to marry Astoria at first, he ultimately had no choice in the matter. It is possible that he came to care for her over time, but it is also possible that he felt pressured to remain in the marriage for the sake of his family and their reputation. Either way, it is clear that Astoria was not Draco’s true soulmate.
